What is Anodyne Therapy?
Anodyne Therapy is a FDA approved, non-invasive, drug free treatment system using monochromatic, near infrared photo energy (MIRE) administered to the affected area via tiny diodes. The device has been clinically proven to increase circulation, decrease inflammation, and reduce pain. The device can be used with implants, pacemakers, defibrillators and has no known drug interactions. Anodyne therapy is not recommended for patients who are pregnant or who have active cancer.

How Does Anodyne Therapy Work?


During a therapy session, flexible pads containing 60 super-luminous infrared diodes that emit pulsed near-infrared irradiation, are placed on the affected area for 15-45 minutes. The pads are held in place by neoprene straps and Velcro. The patient sits or lies comfortably during the procedure. Patients often report a feeling of general warmth in the area of the pad. There is slight potential for a burn. Many patients report a near immediate reduction in pain following treatment.
Treatment typically consists of three therapy sessions per week for four weeks. Some patients respond faster and some may take longer. Anodyne therapy is often used in conjunction with other treatments such as physical therapy or occupational therapy.
