Cynthia Holloway-Coatney

Cynthia, daughter of Charles and Joyce Holloway, was always a very happy and loving person, giving and sharing her time and anything else she had with friends, family, or whoever needed her. She loved outdoor activities, especially those related to the lake and rivers. She was a very outgoing individual, and always wanted to be a participant, not an observer, beginning with Brownies, Girl Scouts, then on to a Candy Stripe Volunteer at Ozarks Medical Center. She played volleyball in middle school, was active in choir and band on through her senior year. In high school she devoted much of her time to the speech and debate activities and to Student Venture.
Cynthia attended Southwest Missouri State University-West Plains and graduated in May 1997. She had reached her goal, and had signed a contract to begin her teaching career with Richards Elementary School in August 1997. Cynthia had planned to teach for a few years and then go on for her masters from the University of Missouri Columbia.
Cynthia would be extremely pleased to know that this scholarship established in her honor and memory will help another young person have the opportunity to reach their goals through education. |
