      WorkSTEPS® functional employment testing takes the guess work out of hiring for physically demanding jobs. Based on a comprehensive job analysis, the WorkSTEPS® functional assessment, which is performed at one of PTSC's clinic locations in West Plains or Mountain Grove, features hands on job simulation testing, lifting tests and a thorough musculoskeletal evaluation. The more than 40 medical measurements taken by a licensed clinician during each functional assessment help identify pre-existing conditions in new workers and serve as the baseline of physical functioning prior to employment. In the event an employee ever does becomes injured, the post injury impairment can be compared to the pre-employment baseline data to determine realistic treatment goals.

      The cost associated with one carpal tunnel surgery, one back injury and one fraudulent claim could easily pay for more than 4,000 functional employment assessments.

      More than 1,000 employers nationwide have been utilizing the WorkSTEPS® Model for injury prevention over the past 15 years.
